Rainbow Studios is one of the largest video game developers in the Southwest and develops premier original and licensed titles for current and next generation console systems.
Rainbow’s video game history includes the critically acclaimed Motocross Madness PC series, the award-winning ATV Offroad Fury, top-selling Splashdown, the highly praised MX franchise, and the recent blockbuster Disney-Pixar Cars titles.
The recent release of MX vs. ATV Untamed in 2007 was the largest cross-platform launch in franchise history bringing the game to the Xbox 360, Sony PS3, Sony PS2, Sony PSP, Nintendo DS, and the Nintendo Wii. It is a tribute to Rainbow Studios’ ability to innovate with each new title and continuously develop triple-A, million-unit selling properties in a very competitive genre.
In 2006, Rainbow Studios developed Cars, the video game based on the Disney-Pixar film which was released on all major gaming platforms. It was the number one selling kids video game brand and the number two overall best selling video game in 2006. Having sold nearly eight million units, they achieved major sales milestones by becoming an addition to the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system and PSP (PlayStationPortable) system “Greatest Hits”, Microsoft Xbox “Platinum Hits”, and Nintendo GameCube “Player’s Choice” retail programs. The release of Cars Mater-National followed in 2007 which continues tremendous success even though the film was released almost two years ago.
Rainbow Studios now has over 140 creative employees working in critical disciplines: Design, Art, Animation, Engineering, Production, Audio, Quality Assurance, and Administration. We hire employees from all over the world, and locally we have recruited from the Phoenix Art Institute, University of Advancing Technology, Collins College, DeVry University, and Arizona State University.
