Description
Senior Animator, Electronic Arts, Inc., Chatsworth, CA. Oversee the animation of characters, weapons, vehicles, AI, and creatures for both gameplay and cinematics using the program Autodesk Maya. Lead the creation of hand keyed animations and plan animations using thumbnails, references, and layout to build responsive, immersive gameplay through high quality, believable animations. Drive collaboration and work closely with game designers and narrative teams on features for games. Help direct performers during motion capture sessions. Plan and block animations for the game. Use blocked animations to help guide performers on the motion capture stage. Clean up and craft performances using motion capture data. Develop content in the game’s engine. Implement animations and set up systems for gameplay. Test and further polish animations in game. May supervise or mentor junior artists/animators. Telecommuting permitted. (SRAN-S-102-LACA)
40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Salary: $152,734 - $182,800/yr. EA offers benefits incl PTO, medical/dental/vision insurance & 401(k) to eligible E’ees. Certain roles eligible for bonus & equity.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Art, Animation, Design, Visual Development, or a related field and two (2) years of experience as an animator or in an art-related occupation.
In the alternative, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Art, Animation, Design, Visual Development, or a related field and five (5) years of progressive, post-bachelor’s experience as an animator or in an art-related occupation.
Qualifying experience must include two (2) years in each of the following skills (which may be gained concurrently):
- Maya or Motionbuilder;
- Unity, Unreal or similar engine;
- Motion capture animation or directing, including 3D animation, or cleaning and polishing motion capture data with high fidelity;
- Full body character animations or first person weapon animations;
- Confluence, Jira, Shotgrid or Perforce;
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including FX, Rigging, Modeling, or Narrative departments, to deliver animation assets.
Must have one (1) year of experience leading teams of animators or artists.
Any suitable combination of education, training and experience is acceptable.
Up to 10% domestic travel possible based on business need.
